  • Kindergarten
    • Miss Postalu (married a year or two later and became Mrs. Chaleckson)
      • We got to take turns taking the turtle home on the weekends.
      • Class field trip went to the LA Zoo (Doree's mom was one of the chaperones)
      • We grew carrots in the school yard as a class project.
    • Mrs. Denton
      • Would not let Doris Brennan play with the toys while the rest of the class had "naptime"
  • First Grade
    • Mrs. Wilson?
      • told Doree Van Fleet she did not have to run around the baseball fields with the rest of the class. Doree was not sure why. Those ugly while oxfords were kind of heavy!

    • Mrs. Benveneste? who knows this one?

  • Second Grade
    • Mrs. Wilson?

      • Gave each student a Mr.GoodBar if they got every multiplication correct on a chosen day
      • Leslie Martes says she had the most beautiful eyes she had ever seen.
  • Fifth Grade

      • She was from Michigan and claimed she believed in UFO's
      • Doree Van Fleet and Dorothy Miller got in trouble for calling her on the telephone (couldn't understand why)

  • Seventh Grade
    • Mr. Jerry Simpson
      • The most handsome man Doree had ever laid eyes on. He was good at giving us lectures about life.
      • Ready? EXERCISE!
    • Mrs. Sharp
      • Came to school one day looking like a raccoon. She was completely sunburned except where her sunglasses covered her face.
  • Eighth Grade

      • He used to pull on your ear if you misbehaved
      • Most remembered for saying, "That really burns me up!"
    • Mrs. Willoughby
    • Mrs. Lela Belle Wolfert
      • Greg Rousseau's all time favorite teacher
    • Mr. Stinson
      • Mr. Stinson had his classroom in one of the
        temporary trailer classrooms. It also seems to me he must have had some weird hobbies because he was always picking black glue-like stuff off his hands.
